Ever since Romulus killed his brother Remus for leaping over the wall that defined the boundaries he established for the City of Rome, we've been living in a national security state. 

We've kept nature out and kept ourselves and each other imprisoned in hierarchical, rational, legal and jurisdictional cages that justify all manner of cruelty and oppression in the name of civilization.

When fear, limitations, separation, competition, scarcity and urgency are all you know, it's hard to imagine, much less co-create, a world of abundance, connection, health, wealth, wisdom, joy and love.

Technological advancements over the last few decades have given us a glimpse into this new space of possibility. They've also given us a taste of the horror and dystopia that awaits us if we choose to oppress rather than liberate ourselves and each other.

In the past, all the major platforms were asynchronous. Searching, shopping and socializing were a series of pages, posts, streams, messages, tweets, snaps and comments. The sounds, images and words on our screens were long-dead notions reverberating through the ghostlands of copper, fiber and silicon, seeking to be received and yearning to be acknowledged.

The "metaverse" is not just immersive augmented reality audio, video and haptic touch, it's live, real-time shared experiences that can deepen and enrich our connections with each other and the world within and around us.

Crypto is not just a new form of money, the blockchain presents us with the possibility of a sacred economics based on consensual value systems shared by all willing participants.

NFTs are not just authenticated works of art, they're a portal into the new culture of sublime co-creativity that wrestles passion from the stifling death-grip of industrial-age content production and distribution systems. 

Today is different.

I can look into your eyes from across the world. I can sense how you feel, right now, this moment.

I can adjust and respond, learn and grow, connect and accept, challenge and support. 

Today, we can share an experience and make a connection.

What has changed?

The Internet of Value.

Each blockchain is an immutable, decentralized record of the agreements forged between independent parties, a ledger that binds us together in the moment, as we are experienced by others.

By participating in a crypto network and protocol, we are operating on consensus.

Our choices and actions are recorded and memorialized in a way that binds us together in a community of gratitude, generosity, honor and respect.

We are no longer dependent on the authority of the state, the corporation or the church to mediate our thoughts, words and deeds.

With these new abilities comes enormous responsibility. For ourselves, each other and the community of all beings.
